About
Hi there, I’m Hallie!
Let me go ahead and introduce myself and give you some insight into my life and who I am!
In my spare time, I love any type of crafty DIY project, a good book, and diving deep into research mode on a new subject (my mindset is that there’s always more to learn). You’ll also find me constantly working on new projects around my mini homestead that my husband and I moved into and started in November 2024.
I’m absolutely animal & plant obsessed. Together with my husband, we have an elderly cat named Tesch, a senior pup Melody, who is the queen of the house, and our newest addition, Jazzy, a rambunctious two-year-old pitbull. On our little farm, we have 15 chickens, an assortment of fruit trees, veggies, and flowers. Soon, we are hoping to add goats and bees. It’s safe to say, I feel like I can never have enough plants and animals.
My relationship with God is something that touches every aspect of my life, it’s what gives my life guidance and gives me peace in all of life’s uncertainty.
Family
In my life, family comes first & I pride myself on being a devoted wife. My parents and my husband are my best friends in this crazy world. I’ve also spent a long time cultivating the most supportive and deep friendships with people that I consider my family.
My husband, Michaelangelo, and I started dating in 2022 and fell deeply in love with each other’s authenticity and dreams for the future. We got engaged, adopted our first fur baby together, Jazzy, then got married and found our dream home, all in 2024, ready to take on the world together.
Motherhood is something that has always called me; my love of nurturing has shown up in so many ways through plants, animals, friends, relationships, and now supporting other women on their motherhood journey.
Journey to Birthworker
My journey to birth work started in 2016 when I quit birth control after years of continuous adverse reactions. I dedicated all of my free time to learning about women’s bodies, how women’s hormones function, healing after birth control, how to live life with your hormonal cycle, and how to prepare for conception.
Before 2021, I had never heard of a doula. I was in that phase of life where all my friends and family were having kids, and I kept hearing similar things from everyone I talked to about their experience.
"I didn’t feel informed about the birth experience.”
"I wish I had someone knowledgeable other than my partner with me to support me.”
After hearing so many similarities in different people’s stories, along with my continuous research and knowledge about women’s bodies, all while being on my own preconception journey, I kept having this gut feeling that I wanted to support women in some way through this transition, but didn’t know how.
After a conversation with a friend, she asked me if I’d ever thought about becoming a doula. That was the first time I’d ever heard of a doula. I immediately went home and did a deep dive of research & watching videos, and the whole time I spent reading, I felt seen and knew I needed to pursue this.
Shortly after that, a dear friend asked me to be at her birth to support her. Showing up for her was the moment my life shifted, and I knew it was time to pursue this life purpose.
Supporting women and families through this major life transition has brought so much meaning and joy to my life. My goal is always to support women in making embodied, informed decisions about their birth & postpartum experience.
